Noah 2: The Flood

Ancient Prophets - video lorem ipsum

Read Genesis 7

Who went into the ark (v. 7, 13)?

What did Noah take with him (vs. 2 – 3)?

How did Noah get the animals (vs. 8 – 9)?

When did Noah and the animals enter the ark (before or after the rain started)?

Who shut the door of the ark (v. 16)?

Where did the water come from?

How long did it rain?

How high did the waters rise?

Who died?

How long did the floods cover the earth?

How important was it for Noah to fully obey God?  Think about some of the details and what might have happened if Noah had just partially obeyed.

How important do you think it is for you to fully obey God?

Read Genesis 8

When did Noah enter the ark (see Gen 7:11)?

When did the ark come to rest on Mt. Ararat?

When were the mountains visible?

This means that Noah had been in the ark for almost 7 ½ months (10th month – 17th day of 2nd month is approximately 10 – 2.5 = 7.5) before he was able to see land again.  After 40 days he sent a raven.  Then he sent a dove.

Why did Noah send out the dove?

Finally Noah came out on the 27th day of the 2nd month.  So how long was Noah in the ark?

What did Noah do when he came out of the ark?

When did God say in His heart that he would never again destroy the earth with a flood (v. 21)?

However, what is the inclination of man’s heart (v. 21)?

Read Genesis 9: 1 – 17

What was man forbidden to eat (v. 4)?

What would happen to the man who sheds the blood of another man (v. 6)?

Why is this important?

What do you believe that God thinks about violent TV shows and movies or violent video games in which men are killing one another?

Re-read verses 9 – 17: What is the covenant that God made with Noah?

Who is the covenant for?

What is the sign of the covenant?
