Adam 2: Fall of Man
Read Gen. 3:1 – 24
- What did the serpent say that God said (3:1)?
- What did the woman say that God said (3:2-3)?
- What did God really say (2:16-17)?
God didn’t say anything about not touching the tree of knowledge of good and evil. He said that they could eat of every tree except for that one.
- How did the serpent deceive the woman?
- Where was the man when she ate (v. 6)?
- Why did the man and woman make figs leaves for covering?
- What did they do when God walked in the garden?
- What do people do today when they sin?
- How did God help them to acknowledge their sin (vs. 9-13)?
God knew where they were and that they had eaten from the forbidden tree, but He first helped them acknowledge where they were and what they had done. When we sin, we feel shame and guilt, but rather than hide and act like nothing happened, we need to confess our sin to God.
- How did God punish the serpent?
- How did God punish the woman?
- How did God punish the man?
The serpent is a picture of Satan. God said that the son of the woman would crush his head, but he would bruise the man’s heal.
- From what did God make clothes for Adam and Eve?
- What had to happen for God to make clothes from the skin of animals?
- Did Adam and Eve die when they ate from the forbidden tree? How?
